NEWS

The National Organizing Committee with the participation of representatives of the Union of Physicists, chemists and biologists and the Ministry of Education organize a National Festival "Science on Stage – 5." For the fourth time hosting the festival will be the town of Sevlievo. The fifth edition of the National Festival "Science on Stage" will be followed by international events in the month of June 2015 in London, England http: //www.science-on-stage.eu/
The festival is a continuation of the European program "Science on stage" and is intended to raise and maintain the interest of young people in science as a major field of human knowledge and future career. It enables teachers and students to present and accept science in a new way, demonstrating the fun part that science brings.
The National Festival “Science on Stage – 5” will take place from 24th to 26th of October, 2014 in the town of Sevlievo, Bulgaria.
The main objective of the program “Science on Stage” is to raise the level of teaching science, which leads to a better scientifically educated society and directs more young people to careers in science, engineering and technology disciplines.
350 primary and secondary school teachers from 27 European countries, including Bulgaria, will have the opportunity to present their ideas and projects on stands, workshops, presentations and performances on stage that would allow teachers to show that physics, chemistry, biology and math can be interesting and useful.
The condition for this is that they are presented in an accessible and original way and to reveal possibilities and perspectives that science provides.
Participants in the International Festival will be determined at the national festivals of countries that have a competitive nature.
The main purpose of these festivals is to improve the quality of education by enabling teachers in scientific disciplines to exchange experiences and teaching approaches, to get inspired and enthuse their application and to inform them and promote them among modern scientific achievements. All of the participants in the festival must show their projects in the most attractive way based on approach to education in one of the designated IOC topics:
Science and the sustainable development of the world
Projects in which science is used to study global and environmental issues
Involving science
